On previous plans to relocate our historic barrack to the area surrounding the Poston Memorial Monument have drastically changed.   On September 3, 2019, our historic barrack, which resided at the Poston Elementary School Site I, was completely destroyed by fire after being vandalized several times.  Due to the possibility that this could occur again with other historic structures at the Poston Elementary School Site I, including our former Library, the Poston Community Alliance Board Members have decided against restoring the Library for use as an interpretive center but will only stabilize it.

We have located another barrack, pictured left, and have decided to relocate this barrack to the more secure area surrounding the Poston Memorial Monument.  We have received a grant award in the amount of $243,447 to relocate and rehabilitate this barrack for use as our Interpretive Center.  We are required to provide matching funds in the amount of $121.724.  We will move forward with these revised plans beginning in 2020, including fundraising to meet the required match of $121,724.
